The Teen Company Guidelines. This includes your work habits, attitude, commitment and setting an example for all of the other dancers studying in our programs; especially while taking class. If at any time any Company Member engages in or starts rumors, becomes disrespectful of the school, fellow dancers, teachers, or choreographers, you will be immediately dismissed from the company.

Younger dancers accepted on case-by-case basis. The Modern Dance Teen Intensive is an invigorating week of dance that is both challenging and supportive.
The Martha Graham School is the oldest professional school of dance in the United States and the only one primarily focused on the Martha Graham Technique and repertory. Classes are taught by faculty who are current or former members of the Martha Graham Dance Company, and who trained with Martha Graham herself or with her first-generation acolytes. Full-time programs are offered for intermediate and advanced pre-professional students seeking excellent training in the Martha Graham Technique and repertory along with theory, pedagogy and related disciplines.

The festival takes its inspiration from another successful Trust funded project, The Young Jazz Lions Pavilion program of the Chicago Jazz Festival, which has spotlighted dozens of high school and college bands, and encouraged interest in the genre and legacy since its inception in With only 4 Chicago Public High Schools offering dance courses, the District has been advertising all year for certified dance instructors to include more high schools. We want to use the bully-pulpit afforded by Chicago Dancing Festival to raise awareness among dancers and dance enthusiasts about this window of opportunity that can nurture the talent of a new generation of dancers and choreographers in Chicago.
While the objective is to train a lifelong dancer, individual goals range from health maintenance, improvement of self-esteem and social skills development. Classes include a variety of dance forms and are open to students of all needs and levels. In order to supplement the artistic program, guest artists from around the nation are invited to our center so that our students are exposed to different choreographic styles.
